Jennifer Hii the Humour Champion, Taqiuddin the Evaluation Victor!
26 Nov, Miri – The hot Saturday was heated up even further with the Humorous Speech and Speech Evaluation Contest for club members of Kelab Pidato Toastmasters Miri. Jennifer Hii won first place in the Humorous Speech Contest and Taqiuddin won the first place for the Speech Evaluation Contest.
Held at the club usual meeting place, Bangunan Persatuan Melayu Miri, the contest was meant for members to practice giving speeches in front of an audience other than the usual members. Ustaz Amin Wahid was in the second place and Taqiuddin in the third place for the Humorous Speech Contest. In the Speech Evaluation category, Jennifer Hii secured the second place followed by Ustaz Amin Wahid.
Being a victor is not the main aspect but most importantly the contest helps to boost confidence and self-esteem in the club members as participants or the contest committee. The contest helped foster better relationship with other clubs such as Miri Toastmasters Club who came in to help and support the activity.
